Zimbabwe's farm equipment sector is characterised by a huge demand for mechanisation, a reliance on imported machinery (like John Deere, Chinese brands), and a growing local innovation scene adapting equipment for smallholders, with plans to boost local assembly through partnerships to create an integrated supply chain for modernising its crucial agricultural sector. While large commercial farms use advanced machinery, smallholders often rely on simpler, adapted tools, driving local engineering for cost-effective solutions, even as the government pushes for major investments and assembly plants for tractors and implements.
